Once a year, the Coffee-Bike franchise partners come together for the Franchise Partner Day in Osnabrück to take stock of the previous year, discuss challenges and celebrate successes together. Since this year’s event could not take place in person as usual, we came up with a digital alternative and organised the Cozy Coffee-Bike Evening 2022 for the first time. The new 90-minute format includes keynote speeches, expert interviews and success stories, as well as our monthly Business Impulse and the presentation of the Coffee-Bike Awards.

Warm Welcome and New Franchise Partners

On Tuesday, 1 March at 6 pm, Mark Rüter, Managing Director of Coffee-Bike GmbH, welcomed the participants to the first Cozy Coffee-Bike Evening. Then they opened the gift boxes together that had already been sent out in advance in front of the screens at home. The included bottle of red wine, an exclusive Coffee-Bike wine glass and delicious treats created the right atmosphere for our Cozy Coffee-Bike Evening.

Afterwards, Carolin Hübner, Head of Business Development, gave an overview of the program of the evening before our Business Consultants Tobias Halstenberg and Markus Fischgrabe started with the introduction of the new franchise partners and the future new starters. We were delighted to have around 50 event participants who joined together to welcome the new members of the #coffeebikefamily. The honour for the best newcomer went to Düsseldorf this year.

Success story and Impulse Lecture

One of the greatest added values of franchising is that the Coffee Bikers can exchange ideas and learn from each other. As a best practice, a new partner reported on his start into self-employment and thus also inspired long-time Coffee-Bikers. For self-employed entrepreneurs, however, it is not only advisable to promote exchange with colleagues from the same sector, but also to benefit from the experience of experts from outside the system. That’s why we interviewed Dr. Uwe Schürmann, Managing Director of the Wissenschaftliche Buchgesellschaft Darmstadt, who has already been able to gain some experience and celebrate some successes in over 30 years. The Coffee-Bikers were able to gather from the Impulse Lecture for their company that success can be planned and with the right mindset, a clear focus and realistic goals, success can also be achieved.

Many Coffee-Bikers are now successful as Multi-Bikers, including the dreamteam from Erfurt, which was awarded Multi-Biker of the Year 2021. In the category of the most shots, a Coffee-Biker from Kaiserslautern was able to prove herself. In addition to quantity, our award categories also include values such as social commitment. In this sense, the award for special commitment to the system went for the first time to Austria, where a Coffee-Biker convinced prospective franchisees of the franchise partnership with an “internship” on his own bike.

Coffee-Bike Insights and Business Impulse

To ensure that the franchise partners are also informed about the topics at the Osnabrück headquarters, Carla Verlage, Head of Marketing, presented projects from the marketing strategy 2022, which include the development of the new Coffee-Bike website. As many partners are active on Facebook and Instagram, it was difficult to decide on a winner of the Social-Media-Award. In the end, a partner from Leipzig, who started in a shopping centre last year, came out on top. Despite the current situation, there were also good news from the catering sector. Linda Brinker, event manager, named several major customers who had booked a Coffee-Bike catering and predicted a promising catering season for Coffee-Bikers in the coming spring and summer months. With the Business Impulse for the month of March on the topic of proactive acquisition, the development team gave the franchise partners some important tips to take with them on their way.

“The Cozy Coffee-Bike Evening was a good alternative to the Franchise Partner Day with a focus on exchange, knowledge transfer and entertainment. Of course, we still hope that the Franchise Partner Day can take place again next year and that we can welcome our partners back to Osnabrück,” Mark Rüter sums up the event optimistically.
